Sound Control 3.1.0 Release Notes

Version 3.1.0

Requirements: macOS 11.0.0 or later

  • macOS 14 (Sonoma) support.
  • Ignored apps now causes Sound Control to completely disable all audio processing for apps in the list.
  • Never hide settings window disclosure button.
  • Don’t show output if a hidden device is the default output. This works around a crash that happened if Audirvana was playing with “exclusive access” on.
  • Fixed a bug that could lead to always downmixing to mono.
  • Can now import a folder of effects presets.
  • More responsive UI.
  • Fixed a bug that could lead to artifacts in audio when adjusting volume when Prevent sleep is enabled for the default output device.
  • User Audio Plug-In now uses the same 3rd party AudioUnits location as the System Extension.
  • Quitting Sound Control when using the User Audio Plug-In now properly switches macOS’ default output device.
  • Can now set the selected effects preset by name via AppleScript.
  • Added hot keys for toggling the routing output of an app.
  • MIDI lights are no synced properly at launch.
  • Fixed secondary click on status item.
  • Fixed meters sometimes not working for a newly launched app.
  • Diagnostics now include user defaults.
  • Priority devices are now reloaded when switching tabs and when the window becomes active. This keeps aggregate devices that are edited up to date.
  • Fixed preferred audio device change when they are connected or disconnected.
  • Added option to “Force response to keyboard volume keys” in settings for situations where Sound Control doesn’t handle keyboard volume controls automatically.
