Sound Control 2.3.0 Release Notes

Sound Control 2 is a FREE upgrade to owners of Sound Control 1.

Version 2.3.0:

  • Initial compatibility with T2 Macs. (iMac Pro, 2018 MacBook Pro, 2018 Mac mini).
  • Optional per-app balance.
  • EQ can now be adjusted independently for left and right channels.
  • Can now optionally control website volumes independently.
  • Fixed priority devices when running without additional components installed.
  • Added hot key for toggling Sound Control on/off.
  • Added option to suppress the “Missing Components” dialog at launch.
  • Smoother slider adjustments in the EQ.
  • Fixed meters for apps that have subprocesses, such as Safari.
  • Fixed issue that could cause meters to get stuck.
  • Better prev/next device hot key behavior.
  • Fixed double beep that could occur when “Force Keyboard Volume Control” is enabled.
  • Output devices now show consistent mute and volume settings.
  • Touch bar controls are now disabled on Macs without a touch bar.
  • No longer prevents system from selecting airplay as the default output.
  • Better menu and submenu placement.
  • Fixed bug that prevented deleting a newly made EQ preset.
  • Touch bar refinement. Can now change device volumes from the touch bar.
  • Touch bar is now a live preview while in the Touch Bar preferences tab.
  • On Mojave Master volume is no longer shown when using media keys to change volume.
  • Priority devices now properly ignores the ignored output devices.
  • Priority devices now functions properly.
  • Better menu appearance in dark mode.
  • Better filtering of non-audio playing apps and sites.
  • Other apps meter now work.
  • Hot Keys menu item is now shown even when Sound Control is disabled.
