Sound Siphon 2 is a FREE UPGRADE for those that have already purchased Sound Siphon 1.x.

  • Fixed issue where software-based volume was muting at too high of a dB value.
  • Added “Other Apps” to control other apps that aren’t specifically listed, such as Finder and background processes.
  • EQ is now applied to applications by default. This behavior can be disabled in the Equalizer menu.
  • Remove button now changes to Add button when an item is excluded.
  • Now works with bluetooth devices (and other high latency) devices.
  • Fixed some daemon crashes.
  • Fixed issue where volume change beeps and system beeps were truncated.
  • Better audio synchronization.
  • Now falls back to built-in audio if the selected output device is unplugged.
  • Added option to remember recording timer settings.
  • Fixed issue where pause would stay on between recordings.
  • Reduced CPU use.
  • Now prefers the last output device selected by the user. Helpful for HDMI displays that are turned on and off.
  • Addressed an issue where settings and registration could be reset.
  • Addressed issue that could lead to audio skipping.

Sound Siphon 2 is a FREE UPGRADE for those that have already purchased Sound Siphon 1.x.

  • Fixed an issue capturing audio from some java apps, including Blackboard Collaborate.
  • All volumes now use a logarithmic curve instead of linear.
  • Fixed an issue that caused aggregate devices to pile up.
  • Added an option (with warning) to disable feedback protection when previewing levels.
  • Added option to mix all channels of an input together creating mono-stereo type audio.
  • Fixed an issue that caused distorted audio when playing audio from YouTube.
  • Fixed a coreaudiod crash that could occur when editing input devices or changing Sound Siphon’s sample rate.

Sound Siphon 2 is a FREE UPGRADE for those that have already purchased Sound Siphon 1.x.

  • Can now select output from the menu bar.
  • Now prefers the last device that was selected by the user.
  • Per-app volume control now works more reliably.
  • Per-app volume apps can now be inclusive or exclusive.
  • Added optional software volume for System Output.
  • Some minor internal changes to support public API.

Sound Siphon 2 is a FREE UPGRADE for those that have already purchased Sound Siphon 1.x.

  • Audio input devices including microphones are now available as input sources.
  • Can now record audio directly in the Sound Siphon app.
  • Added application volume control and system wide EQ.
  • Added ability so select the sample rate (44.1kHz – 96kHz) in Sound Siphon’s preferences.
  • Can now mute Sound Siphon’s output and still control volume via the keyboard.
  • Now switches to Built-in audio when an external device is unplugged and switches back if device is plugged back in.
  • Volume for devices that don’t have their own volume controls (i.e. HDMI, AudioEngine D1) is now saved.
